Conventional log cuttings causing damages to the forest. Part of efforts to minimize the conventional forest’s wood cutting is to apply Reduced Impact Logging (RIL) or the Ecological Friendly Cutting. This system has become obligatory to be applied in the sustainability basic forest production management, and is conditioned by the Ministry of Environment and Forestry, through the certification scheme of Sustainable Forest Production Management (PHPL). PT Mutuagung Lestari as an institution of conformity evaluation (LPK) in the forestry section should be capable to evaluate the effectiveness of the RIL applications in every production / wood-cutting activities by Forest Concession Holders companies.
In view of the above, our Company will continuously commit in up-grading our personnel’s competence and professionalism in the training of Reduced Impact Logging (RIL) which was held on January 4. The subject material source was by Mr. Hasbie Hasbillah, the deputy Director of Tropical Forest Foundation SE Asia and Pacific Program, and he has 25 years of experience in the management of natural forest and plantations, including the industrial sector for natural forest and agriculture in Indonesia and S.E.Asia.
