PERKUAT JALINAN KERJASAMA INDONESIA DAN KORSEL DI KEHUTANAN

[:id]Indonesia menjalin kerjasama dengan dengan Korea Selatan di bidang kehutanan. Hal ini diwujudkan dengan pertemuan secara tertutup bersama Duta Besar Republik Korea Taiyoung Cho kepada Menteri Lingkungan Hidup dan Kehutanan (Menteri LHK) Siti Nurbaya, Selasa (28/6).

Pertemuan di kantor Menteri LHK tersebut membahas Agreement on the Establishment of the Asian Forest Cooperation Organization (AFoCO) guna mengurangi degradasi dan deforestasi serta pengelolaan hutan secara lestari.

AFoCO merupakan perjanjian/komitmen dari negara-negara di Asia untuk meningkatkan kerjasama kehutanan di tingkat regional dalam suatu aksi nyata guna mengurangi degradasi dan deforestasi, mengelola hutan secara lestari dan menghadapi dampak perubahan iklim.

Dubes Korea Taiyoung Cho menyatakan bahwa negaranya memberikan perhatian lebih terhadap pengelolaan hutan dan energi dan berupaya untuk mendukung setiap negara yang memiliki visi dan misi yang sama terkait perlindungan hutan demi menjaga lingkungan agar tetap lestari.

Indonesia dipandang sebagai mitra utama di ASEAN oleh Republik Korea dan diharapkan segera melakukan penandatanganan naskah perjanjian AFoCO pada acara ASEAN-Republic of Korea Commemorative Summit yang akan diselenggarakan pada tanggal 1-2 Agustus 2016 di Jeju Island, Korea.

“Kami sangat menyambut baik kerjasama antar kedua negara ini melihat komitmen yang tinggi dari Indonesia terkait kebijakan perhutanan sosial dan perubahan iklim,” ujar Siti melalui keterangan resminya.

Siti Nurbaya menegaskan komitmen yang tinggi dari Indonesia terhadap kebijakan Perhutanan Sosial, disamping itu juga kebijakan REDD+ dan pengendalian perubahan iklim dalam konteks yang lebih luas.

Siti menambahkan, sebagai bentuk penguatan kerjasama antar kedua negara, ia mengharapkan dukungan dan perhatian dari Pemerintah Korea Selatan khususnya dalam capacity building terhadap pengelolaan kehutanan Indonesia dan pengendalian perubahan iklim.

Pada kesempatan tersebut, Dubes Korea Selatan juga menyampaikan permohonan dukungan Indonesia terhadap keinginan Korea Selatan sebagai tuan rumah pertemuan World Forestry Congress berikutnya.

PT. MUTUAGUNG LESTARI[:en]Indonesia interfaced a cooperation with South Korea in the area of forestry. It was realized in a closed meeting between the ambassador of Republic Korea Tayoung Cho and the Indonesian Minister of Environment & Forestry Siti Nurbaya on Wednesday, June 28.

The meeting which was held in the Minister’s office discussing Agreement on the Establishment of the Asian Forest Cooperation Organization (AFoCO) to decrease degradation and deforestation and forest sustainability management.

AFoCO is an agreement / commitments of Asian nations to increase forestry cooperation regionally in real action to decrease forest degradation and deforestation, to manage forestry sustainability and to face the effects of climate changes.

The Korean Ambassador said the his country gave more and more attention towards the forest management and energies and tries to support every country that have the same vision and mission in connection with the protection of forests for the sake of sustainability of the environment.

Indonesia is looked as the ultimate partner in ASEAN by the Republic of Korea and a signing the AFoCO documents agreement in the ASEAN –Republic of Korea Commemorative Summit is expected soon which will be held on August 1-2, 2016 in Jeju Island, Korea.

“We welcome the cooperation between the two countries as I look for the high Indonesian commitments in connections with the forestry policies and climate changes.” Said the Minister on the official info.

Siti Nurbaya stressed that high commitments of Indonesia towards the Social Forestry, and also the policy of REDD+ and control of climate changes in wider contexts.

Siti added that as a form to strengthen the cooperation between both countries, she hoped the support and attention of the South Korea Government especially in capacity building towards Indonesian forestry management and the control of climate changes.

In this opportunity the South Korean Ambassador also requested Indonesian support towards the South Korean desire to be host of the next World Forestry Congress.
