California Air Resources Board – CARB

Mutu International has been approved from California Air Resources Board (CARB) in July 2008 as the Third Party Certification Body (Third Party Certifier) through CARB Executive Order W-08-06 and having assign number: TPC-6.

 

By this approval, Mutu International carries out the certification activity for the composite wood producer under the regulation of Airborne Toxic Control Measure (ATCM) to Reduce Formaldehyde Emission from Composite Wood Product section 93120-93120.12, title 17, California Code of Regulation.

 

Role of Third Party Certifier (TPC)

  1. To verify the accuracy of emission testing procedure and facilities used by the producer to carry out formaldehyde emission test.
  2. To monitor quality guarantee program of the producer as already determined in California Code of Regulation section 93120.12 appendix 2.
  3. To provide independent audit and inspection.

 

Scope of Product

Mutu International is a CARB approved third party certifier for the following composite wood products:

  1. Hardwood Plywood
  2. Particleboard, and
  3. Medium Density Fiberboard

Mutu Certification International have a wide operating area, covering all regions or countries around the world.

Test Method

Mutu Certification International has testing facilities, such as:

  1. Primary Method (Large Chamber Method) ASTM E 1333-96 (Reapproved 2002 or 2014)
  2. Secondary Method (Small Chamber Method) ASTM D 6007-02.
